About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Officer to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, with a strong background in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance within the EU and UK financial sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the Group of companies (including companies in the UK and Cyprus)
- Process invoices, manage accounts payable and receivable, and handle general ledger entries.
- Conduct monthly and daily reconciliations, including bank statements, accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Assist in the preparation of management reports and financial analyses to support decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly payroll for Cyprus, United Kingdom and Greece
- Assist in the preparation and submission of financial reports to various regulators in the EU and UK, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and deadlines.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns and other tax-related filings.
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
- Support the finance team with various financial projects and tasks as needed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualifications (e.g., ACCA, ACA) are highly desirable but not required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within the financial services industry and regulated entities.
- Experience with regulatory reporting in the EU and UK financial sectors is a strong advantage.
Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Greek is an advantage.
