The Accounting Manager will be reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities
- Global accounting staff (currently 2 accountants) will report to the Accounting Manager. Mentor and train to help with career development.
- Responsible for month end close and consolidation; ensure all GL accounts are closed accurately and on a timely basis
- Prepare monthly financial reports including but not limited to Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement, etc.
- Oversee Accounts Receivable, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and maintain accurate accounts of unbilled and deferred revenue.
- Oversee Accounts Payable ensuring that accruals and prepaids for expense reports and payables are recorded properly. Managing Concur and ensuring expenses are categorized properly.
- Responsible for booking general ledger entries including (but not limited to) payroll, equity, short/long term debt
- Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled at the end of each month
- Research and prepare technical accounting analyses for new accounting pronouncements and/or business initiatives as needed
- Collaborate with 3rd party accountants to ensure non-US entities books are reconciled and performed in accordance with US GAAP
- Assist in the financial audit process, including preparation of materials for the financial statement audit and working with the external auditors
- Coordinate with external tax team and record/reconcile all GL tax accounts
- Assist in monthly variance analysis through understanding the financial data within the greater context of the business
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedural documentation
- Work closely together with the financial planning and analysis team in analysis of the monthly reported revenue and expenses
- Manage and develop accounting team
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. Equivalent years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
- 15+ years’ experience in Accounting roles, with the last 5+ years as an Accounting Manager. (ideally working in an enterprise software technology company)
Skills and Knowledge
- Experience with NetSuite (must have) and Concur
- Ability to drive projects to completion when starting with unknowns, competing priorities and other challenges in a fast-pace environment
- High attention to detail
- Expertise working in enterprise SaaS a plus
- Strong working knowledge of Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- CPA and/or Big-4 experience a plus
The role will be onsite at the company’s HQ in Redwood City and the individual is expected to be in the office 2-3 days/week. The anticipated salary range for chosen candidate is $130,000 - $145,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include, but are not limited to, the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc.
