The Purpose:
We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager to join our Accounting team. This role is part of the Global Finance team to manage our shared service accounting requirements. We are looking for someone who has strong technical and operational knowledge and experience in IFRS and reporting, is a strong communicator, thrives on process improvement, and enjoys working in a challenging, fast–paced environment to support our continued success. You will be part of our Accounting team that is composed of other passionate accounting professionals located in Munich, Frankfurt, London, Luxembourg, Mexico City, Sao Paolo and Singapore
In the role of the Accounting Manager, you are responsible for the day-to-day activities in the accounting department managing the accountants and analysts in EMEA. Furthermore, you are helping to establish financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information.
What you'll be doing:
- Managing and developing the accounting team in EMEA (currently 5 employees)
- Managing the daily accounts function, responsible for debtors, creditors and asset accounting
- Define and manage best practices for each area of the accounting department
- Bank accounting for the main operating entities incl. customer funds accounting
- Responsible for accurate monthly accounting for PPRO’s entities, act as contact person for the auditors for year end audit
- Support in production of annual statutory financial statements for EMEA entities.
- Participate in ad hoc continuous improvement projects
What would make you a great fit:
- University degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent)
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in accounting including experience at Big 4 audit firm
- Experience in managing teams
- Good know-how and experience in IFRS and local GAAP accounting standards (e.g. HGB, Lux GAAP)
- Good communication skills and ability to work with remote teams
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large data sets
- MS Dynamics experience (not a must)
- Excel skills (advanced)
- Proficiency in English is a must
