Accounting Manager

Let’s Start with the Role

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and proactive Accounting Manager to lead cross-functional teams in executing high-value accounting tasks. Based in Athens, Greece, and reporting to the Finance Director, the ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in accounting principles and experience in supporting day-to-day financial operations. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial records and contributing to the overall financial health of the company.

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the HQ and overseas accounting teams;
• Analyze and evaluate monthly financial results to ensure timely and accurate reporting according to the Group Policies;
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under IFRS;
• Coordinate the annual financial audit, preparing all information needed, and oversee the whole process;
• Collaborate with external stakeholders, including auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders, including tax, accounts payable and treasury teams;
• Work with other departments on accounting matters and serve as a source of information relative to such matters;
• Lead and manage the team, ensuring a culture of teamwork and improvement;
• Communicate and inform leadership about the status, the results, and any issues with regards to the assigned tasks in an accurate and timely manner.

What you’ll bring: 

• A BSc in finance or accounting or any other related field;
• A Master's degree in accounting or finance or ACCA/ACA qualification will be considered as a plus;
• A minimum of 6-8 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position;
• Excellent knowledge of IFRS and tax issues;
• Excellent presentation, reporting, writing and communication skills in both Greek and English are required. Knowledge of Spanish language will be considered as a plus;
• Solid experience in using accounting software (knowledge of Microsoft Business Central will be considered as a huge advantage), financial analysis tools and Microsoft Office Suite;
• Proven track record of success in driving financial performance;
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, able to understand complex data and issues with demonstrated ability to think outside the box;
• Team management experience with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team;
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
• Adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced environment.
