Accounting Manager

  • Lead and oversee the month-end and year-end close processes for North America, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Review and approve journal entries, ensuring they are properly recorded and documented in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Review account reconciliations to ensure the integrity of financial information and assist the team in resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Review monthly fluctuation analyses and assist with providing explanations for significant or unusual changes in balances.
  • Lead the NORAM Cash Forecasting process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational initiatives.
  • Perform technical accounting research as needed and be able to implement where required.
  • Participate in the preparation and review of monthly reports/analyses to Management.
  • Perform work to maintain Internal Audit/SOX compliance.
  • Assist with audits and interact with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

This is a hybrid role out of our Detroit, MI office. 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting.

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • CPA License and Big 4 accounting firm experience.
  • Experience overseeing the month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and proficiency in US GAAP.
  • Experience with accounting software; experience with NetSuite and/or OneStream a plus.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks concurrently and work well with all levels within the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop team members.

DOE, salary $120K - $145K, plus Health, Dental, Life, STD, LTD, 401K, PTO. Total compensation may vary depending on candidate experience/education and location.
