Accounting Leader (Country Lead)

We are looking for Accounting Leader who is going to work as a point of contact for our Finance Shared Services Center, which processes accounting for Allegro retail a.s. and its foreign branches in Hungary and Slovakia.

What does this role involve:

  • You will be responsible for posting monthly provisions, accruals, payroll, and other operations related to monthly closing
  • You will be responsible for GL posting, which will include handling all journal entries
  • You will take on processing of fixed assets and also track and calculate their depreciation or amortization
  • You will ensure the company's compliance with various tax regulations
  • You will manage accruals, provisioning, and allocation recognition
  • You will conduct regular sub-ledger and accounts reconciliation
  • You will confirm IC balances
  • You will participate actively in the month-end closing process on a company-wide level
  • You will prepare financial statements and house management reports as required
  • You will provide support during financial audits
  • You will compile National Bank and Statistical reports to fulfill the company's statutory obligations

This job is for you, if:

  • You are familiar with CAS (Czech Accounting Standards) or IFRS
  • You have at least 3 years of experience as a Chief Accountant or at least 5 years of experience as a Senior Accountant
  • You have experience with preparing financial statements
  • You have experience in VAT settlement and input/output VAT declaration preparation
  • You have experience in reporting to the tax office, Intrastat and Central Bank
  • You are familiar with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace
  • You have good knowledge of Excel (functions and pivot tables)
  • You have good time-management skills and you are self-motivated and able to prioritize your tasks effectively
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • You have a good eye for detail
  • You speak Czech flawlessly and you have full business proficiency in English
