The role will be based at The Hoxton, Portland. You’ll report directly to the Director of Finance and work closely with the Assistant Director of Finance. The position is Monday-Friday 8-430p or 830-5p.
You’ll support the management accounts in relation to the hotel and the restaurants.

The details...
- Process the Daily Hotel banking as the general cashier, which includes creating cash deposits in the appropriate accounts.
- Daily carry out a complete Income Audit of the Hotel’s revenue as reported by night audit.
- Resolve and correct any variances in the above in a timely manner.
- Review Front Office guest ledgers and Sales ledgers and perform Accounts Receivable functions.
- Respond to guest queries in a timely basis.
- Review and respond to credit card inquiries, commission claims, and chargebacks promptly.
- Ensure Area Director of Finance is made aware of any continued variances, or where there may be training opportunities in other departments.
- Accounts Payable functions including proper invoice GL coding with management support, account reconciliation and vendor relations.
- Assist and support the implementation and future development of accounting systems, policies, and procedures.

About you...
- You have 1 – 2 years of hotel finance experience or front office/night audit experience
- You have some bookkeeping or similarly related experience. You know your way around Excel and what you're looking at.
- You execute. You get things done with minimal oversight
- You are scarily organized and can manage/prioritize multiple tasks at once.
- You are humble. There are no egos, and no drama
- Ability to take ownership of issues, solve problems and make effective decisions
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to The Hoxton’s unique culture
- You’ll work positively and collaboratively to achieve the highest standards of delivery at work
