About the Role and Team
The Europe accounting team is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of Trustly’s entities in Europe (excluding the Nordics which is handled by another team). The Accounting team at Trustly consists of 10 individuals, divided into different teams handling Nordics, Europe and Group Accounting.
In this position you will be part of the European accounting team and the accountant responsible for some of our European legal entities. You will work closely with an accounting associate and an accounting assistant but also have a broad collaboration with other internal stakeholders within Trustly as well as external consultants. You will report to the Accounting Manager for Europe. At Trustly, we use ERP system NetSuite, expense system Concur and Rillion for vendor bills.
To succeed in this role you have solid accounting skills and great experience of closing procedures.
What you will do
- General bookkeeping according to local GAAP
- Accounts payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Fixed asset management
- Amortizations
- Intercompany accounting
- Review expenses
- Payroll - Payments and recording of payroll output and taxes
- Perform monthly, quarterly and yearly closings in cooperation with the Accounting Manager and Group Accounting Manager
- Help the team execute the financial statements on a yearly basis
- Delivery of high quality balance sheet reconciliations
- P&L analysis - on a monthly basis
- Communicate with local consultants regarding VAT payments, salary taxes and CIT prepayments among others
- Other ad-hoc tasks, such as assisting the organization with different accounting-related questions
Who you are
- 2 to 3 years exeperince in a similar role
- University degree in Economics or similar
- Documented knowledge and experience of accounting
- Well organized and solution oriented
- Great sense of responsibility - familiar with deadlines
- Problem solver and analytical thinking
- A team player
- Good communication skills
- Fluent in English
