Accountant
Job Summary
Highly motivated, self-directed individual who can provide accounting support to the manufacturing facility and support the standard costing system. Individual will analyze raw material receipts for accuracy in ERP and Accounting systems. Person will perform all Accounts Payable functions with match, input and payment process. Individual will assist with project tracking for fixed assets and assist with the month end processes. Must be able to work in a high-volume environment and be able to perform other tasks as needed by the business.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Accounts Payable matching and processing of invoices in a timely manner. Question any discrepancies related to purchase orders to invoice costing. Maintain log of raw materials receipts daily.
- Participate in monthly close process to include preparation of journal entries, assist in generation of reports that support the monthly financial statements, and reconciliation of general ledger accounts including analysis of accounts. Analyze plant-related general ledger accounts on a regular basis to ensure accuracy of balances. Ensure month-end close deadlines related to plant items are met. Review plant results with Divisional Controller and complete follow-up requirements to timely report monthly financial results.
- Maintain and support Company product costing system to include material costing, freight costing, conversion costing, packaging costing, and scrap rates. Maintain weekly metrics scorecard to include production and shipment data.
- Assist in annual audit review and SOX compliance for internal and external auditors. Review financial transactions and apply accounting theory and principles to ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable laws, rules, policies, and procedures.
- Lead, participate and ensure accurate reporting of special projects or perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications/Professional Experiences/ Years of Experience/Education/Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business or related field.
• Mastery skill level and knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
• 1 year of accounting experience.
• Analytical skills required.
• Must be self-directed, self-motivated, proactive to problem solving, and a team player.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills are crucial.
Preferred Qualifications/Professional Experiences/Years of Experience:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Business Central.
• 1-3 years accounting in a manufacturing environment
• Cost accounting experience a plus.
