We are seeking experienced and detail-oriented Accountants to join our finance team in the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidates will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably within the oil and gas sector. Accountants will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and supporting financial reporting processes.
Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting:
· Prepare and analyse financial statements in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
· Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information to internal and external stakeholders.
2. Cost Accounting:
· Conduct cost analysis and provide insights into cost-saving measures.
· Monitor and analyse project costs, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints.
3. General Ledger Management:
· Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
· Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
4. Budgeting and Forecasting:
· Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
· Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
5. Compliance and Auditing:
· Ensure compliance with industry-specific accounting standards and regulations.
· Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits.
6. Tax Compliance:
· Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations.
· Stay informed about changes in tax laws and advise on potential impacts.
7. Cash Flow Management:
· Manage cash flow and liquidity, including monitoring receivables and payables.
· Implement effective cash management strategies.
8. Financial Analysis:
· Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
· Provide insights into financial performance and trends.
9. Project Accounting:
· Work closely with project teams to track project costs and revenue recognition.
· Ensure accurate allocation of costs to projects.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is a must.
· ICAN or ACCA or relevant professional certification is preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on the oil and gas industry.
· Thorough knowledge of industry-specific accounting standards and regulations.
· Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
