We’re looking for an Accountant to join our team in Belgrade, Serbia. In this role, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting monthly book closings and ensuring compliance with local tax regulations. This is a dynamic position where your attention to detail and expertise will help ensure accurate financial reporting and strengthen our internal controls.
What You'll Do
- Book accounting documents and manage VAT return calculations and bookings.
- Post business transactions, including statements, input, and output documentation.
- Ensure accurate reporting, recording, bookkeeping, and compliance with the company’s accounting policies and tax regulations.
- Calculate and post depreciation and prepare the Fixed Assets (FA) register.
- Reconcile balance sheet and profit and loss accounts.
- Participate in monthly book closings and prepare financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with local legislation and tax requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments within the Group as needed.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.
What You Need For This Role
- A background in accounting with at least 4 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in managing accounting documentation, including VAT returns, payments, and accruals for financial accuracy.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics or SAP.
- Strong attention to detail in reconciling balance sheets, preparing monthly financial reports, and supporting audits.
- Ability to collaborate across teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with internal policies and local tax regulations.
- Knowledge of local legislation and tax requirements for maintaining proper documentation and ensuring compliance across financial processes.
