Account Manager (Renewals - Financial Institutions)

Brief Overview of the Role:

We need highly professional, consultative, client focused and commercial individuals. The position is targeted to gain new business, retain build and expand business with high profile Financial clients. Building relationships with multinational companies across Japan to develop new business and sell our market intelligence products.

You will need to have strong client facing experience and be used to planning and strategically growing a set of accounts on an international basis.

  • The Account Manager will be responsible for both local and global accounts. All Account Managers have the common goal of building strong client relationships, increasing usage of our systems / content, securing renewal rates and working with the Euromonitor’s sales teams to grow contract values year on year.
  • Euromonitor’s Account Managers provide research and industry expert support to clients. This is a key strength and highly valued, it also enables us to get closer to clients and achieve commercial goals. Account Managers provide the vital link between clients and in-house research activities.
  • We should be identifying new revenue opportunities from a growing base of contacts and a better understanding of client organisation, strategy and priorities. Networking within the client, and identify the seeds for upsell of Passport system, and CG opportunities.
  • This is an exciting role, providing the opportunity to develop industry knowledge, commercial acumen and team working. As most of the clients in this field are providing professional service to their end client, this position requires someone who can be confident, self-motivated, highly productive, and keen to work closely with clients and drive revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop client relationships to grow network of users, grow usage, establish Euromonitor as must-have, develop partnership style relationship, understand company organisation, strategy and priorities, ensure renewal, secure incremental revenue (up-sell and cross-sell).
  • Provide research support to clients as required. Evaluate and promote usage within each client company.
  • Train users face-to-face or via online demos.
  • Manage contract renewal negotiations. Identify and act on opportunities for revenue growth using “consultative selling” techniques, team working with sales people on each account.

Requirements

  • Right to work in Japan, based in Tokyo
  • Min 4 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in Financial Sector
  • Comfortable with renewals, upsell, cross sell
  • Ability to create and build client relationships
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and presentation skills
  • A creative and proactive approach to selling
  • A proven track record of sales ability
  • Advanced business Japanese and English competency
