Account Manager

The main responsibilities for the Account Manager are to drive sales of our medical laboratory services to hospitals, clinics and allied healthcare professionals throughout Ireland. The role will require a real team player with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with our clients to ensure their experience of our service is industry leading.

Training and development support will be given to you to help your progression within the organisation.  

Sales Activities

  • Identify and visit existing and prospective clients with a view to selling our pathology services.
  • Provide clients with written quotations, pricing and other relevant information, in a timely fashion.
  • Conduct annual account reviews for key accounts to monitor financial and service performance across the business area.
  • Respond to sales enquiries, generate quotations, implement/update service level agreements and complete tender documents as required.
  • Effectively communicate client needs & advocate internally on their behalf.
  • Monitor competitor activity and provide regular feedback on activities that may impact on the performance of the business areas. 
  • Attend Sales & Marketing meetings as and when required.
  • Assist with strategic sales plans to enhance the company brand.
  • Assist with implementation of sales and marketing strategies to raise awareness of and grow sales of our services and products.
  • Monitor progress of sales activities and provide regular feedback on progress.
  • Network with peers across industries to generate and identify business opportunities.
  • Organise and attend events and exhibitions.

Account Management & Relationships

  • Build relationships with clients through active consultation and regular communication.
  • Develop a complete understanding of the client needs and business area requirements.
  • Form relationships with key stakeholders internally and understand all areas of the business to ensure we provide the highest levels of service to our clients, ensure their needs are met and all queries are answered quickly and effectively.

Education

  • A recognised third level qualification in the biological sciences or healthcare or related discipline.
    OR
  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a related role

Experience

  • At least 3 years in direct sales and/or key account management ideally in a health services or related industry.
  • Proven ability to respond successfully to commercial tenders.
  • Previous experience of working in a medical laboratory would be a distinct advantage.
  • Full Clean Valid driving licence required.
