Account Manager

As a member of the client team, Account Manager partners with the client to help achieve the client's business and communications goals, as well as to provide counsel and assistance. Account Manager manages the day-to-day aspects of the client relationship.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and foster a relationship with the client and external audiences
  • Research, design, develop, implement and manage routine client projects
  • Oversee day-to-day planning of major events
  • Handle media inquiries
  • Review materials (e.g., news releases, backgrounders, fact sheets, bios, newsletters and pitch letters) prepared by Senior Account Executive and Account Executive
  • Develop, pitch and follow-up on coverage by and about the Client in the media, as appropriate
  • Where appropriate, maintain steady and positive client presence in trade media through releases, contact and response to inquiries and requests
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication between client and BCW
  • Partner with client and other communications entities (e.g., advertising agency) to develop and complete communications plan
  • Contribute ideas to program development for the client and for new business proposals

Requirements

Skills Required:
  • Strong oral and written skills both in English and Chinese
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to write strategic materials for client
  • Ability to generate ideas and think creatively
  • Ability to supervise the work of junior staff
  • Ability to supervise multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Skill in project management
  • Business presentation skills, including their development
  • Good listening skills
  • Work within assigned budgets
  • Proficient in computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Other Recommended Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree. A Master degree is a plus
  • 3-5 years’experience working for an international corporation, consulting or communications firm.
  • Proficient understanding of the techniques of a professional services/consultancy firm, journalism, public relations, communications or related field
  • Detailed knowledge of media relations from key trade publications to national outlets
  • Specific knowledge of technology industry or specialized practice area (such as healthcare or investor relations)
