Objectives of this role:
The Account Executive (AE) supports the Account Supervisor and Therapeutic Unit Account Lead in cultivating and maintaining solid relationships with clients, by implementing and managing projects in a timely and efficient way, and by assuring top-level delivery to meet client expectations. This position will be responsible for developing and managing all aspects of various projects across primarily medical affairs business. Examples could include:
- Nonpersonal promotion: banner ads, advertorials, print ads, emails
- Congress activities
- Social media activities
- Advisory boards
- KOL identification
- Patient education
- Disease state education Live and on-demand webinars
- Podcasts
- Videos
- Websites: disease state and/or branded
The position is ideal for candidates who have 1 to 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing or at an agency, leading medical education or promotional initiatives. Experience across both disciplines is not necessary, but a desire and willingness to work hard to become proficient in both is.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports account team, specifically SAE/Account Supervisor
- Works with PM to maintain status report and timelines
- Leads client status calls
- Prepares and sends materials to vendor and clients
- Performs research as directed by AS/AD
- Keeps internal team apprised of client activities and needs
- Works with PM to ensure that all project timetables are met
- Interfaces with client at product management level and with appropriate support departments
- Schedules and prepares materials for client meetings including submissions for Medical/Legal/Regulatory review
- Documents client contacts (via e-mail), requests (change orders), and meetings (conference reports) concisely and accurately
- Keeps supervisors aware of all issues within client’s organization and within agency
- Partners with internal and external team members to avoid/resolve conflict
- Works closely with Project Management department to execute all details of projects
- Provides effective direction to agency team
- Provide Account Services team with recommendations to improve system management or better customize services to meet clients’ needs
Job Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in health sciences, marketing or communications
Experience:
- 1-3 years of work experience in healthcare, marketing, or communications field
- Pharmaceutical or agency internship a plus
- Demonstrated leadership experience/potential
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to manage numerous projects, requests, and responsibilities
- Strong ability to develop productive relationships with both internal and external colleagues
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, follow-through and on-time completion of tasks
- Critical thinker with an eye toward process and system management
- Working knowledge of digital media and tactics
- Understanding of pharmaceutical Medical/Legal/Regulatory compliance a plus
- Extensive knowledge of communications planning and branding
- Working knowledge of pharmaceutical industry
- Leadership skills that will lead to earning the trust of peers and clients
