The team focuses on developing the investment professional skills with the goal of driving superior alpha generation and enhancing team investment processes by analyzing, consolidating, and sharing best practices; training the investment team population; and preparing analyses and data with partners across the firm.

Role Summary

The Point72 Investment Professional Development Team is seeking an experienced financial professional with a passion for coaching to help guide and develop aspiring investment analysts in our Point72 Academy program. As the Academy International Manager, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the training of our European, UK, and Asia-based Academy Associates through building and delivering customized learning solutions. You will have the opportunity to directly shape the curriculum of the program: conduct research, analyze data, coordinate training sessions, and run events – while operating in a flat team structure.

Specifically, you will:

  • Utilize your extensive buyside experience to train and mentor analysts on financial modeling
  • Develop, create, and deliver compliance approved content (in-person and virtual) to advance the core modeling, fundamental research, and analytical skills of Academy analysts
  • Conduct company research to prepare compliant content for training sessions. This includes reading news flow, sell-side research, company filings, earnings transcripts, and more.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes to ensure the training curriculum remains relevant and aligned with best practices
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as Academy management and discretionary investment professionals, to align training initiatives with the overall growth strategy and goals of the organization
  • Provide academic guidance and training to Academy analysts regarding investment theses, fundamental research, and learning how to pitch investment recommendations:
    • Provide specific written / verbal feedback on investment write-ups and models
    • Identify training needs and create targeted programs to address specific skill gaps
  • Collaborate on curriculum planning and execution of multiple overlapping classes and programs
  • Coordinate recruiting efforts with members of the Academy’s recruiting team and assist in producing evaluation materials as needed
  • Partner with Compliance to create presentation materials for Academy marketing, recruiting, and reporting to Senior Management
  • Work closely with Compliance on all the above to ensure adherence with applicable Compliance policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Learning and teaching others about discretionary investing, creating curriculum, and company / stock case studies
  • Being a thought partner, constantly ideating, synthesizing, and sharing your ideas on how to better get analysts up the skills curve
  • Partner with Compliance across all aspects of the Academy
  • Building new things and iterating on them quickly and openly
  • Working with a diverse set of key stakeholders (PMs, Analysts, Senior Management, etc.)
  • Applying project management skills to oversee timelines and key deliverables, and monitor risks during the development and implementation of the learning programs

Requirements

  • 10+ years of capital markets and/or learning and development experience in investment research with a track record of success and strong financial modeling and financial statement analysis skills
  • English and Chinese language fluency, Japanese a plus
  • A passion for equity markets, investing, and developing and mentoring others – listening and giving feedback on investment process and pitching
  • Interest in helping those with differing skill sets understand investing
  • Exceptional critical and analytical thinking ability
  • Clear communicator who understands his/her audience, provides transparency, and execute projects efficiently from beginning to end
  • Strategic and creative thinker with an ability to multitask and re-prioritize assignments while maintaining attention to detail
  • A culture carrier who inspires others through their work ethic, curiosity, and positive attitude
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards and to act with professionalism and integrity
