The team
The Technology organisation comprises a Corporate Centre team and five
business-aligned Technology teams partnering with our federated
businesses. Our retail technology
teams partner with the UK, Europe and US business units. Our ‘big ticket’ technology teams
partner with the London Market and Re & ILS businesses. Corporate Centre consists of Group &
Enterprise Services, IT Services and Information Security. Each team is led by a Technology Director
who reports in to the CIO.
Collectively the goal of the Technology organisation is to put
Technology at the heart of the business.
The role
This role sits within the Group & Enterprise Services Technology team.
The focus for this role is to lead Functional Testing on Change Projects
and/or BAU delivery releases within the GDE team. The person will be
responsible for Test Planning and execution of end to end Testing. There will
also be an element of liaising with the business teams to co-ordinate UAT
execution and sign offs.
Key responsibilities
Document and Execute Test Cases
Create and maintain SQL Scripts as part of the functional testing
process.
Understand and debug complex SQL procedures to aid in troubleshooting
testing defects or expected testing outcomes.
Data analysis / data mining using advanced SQL queries to extract
information from data sets and identify correlations and patterns.
Document, maintain and execute Regression Test Cases
Create, enhance and maintain automation Test Scripts/framework for
regression packs
Execute full end to end tests and capture and store test evidence
Contribute towards Test Plan preparation
Contribute towards data identification and data prep activities
Prep Test data required for Test execution
Contribute towards Defect triage meetings
Contribute towards Test Completion reports.
Identify and Log defects
Support in UAT Testing activities
Escalate risks and issues to Test Lead, Test Manager & Delivery
Leads
Technical Skills
7+ yrs in Data warehouse Testing primarily involving in writing and testing
complex SQL queries.
Experience in Microsoft BI technologies (SQL Server Management Studio,
SSIS, SSAS, SSRS).
Experience in Azure SQL DB, Data Factory, Data Lake.
Proven ability working with Erwin data models & data mapping
spreadsheets.
Advanced SQL query writing & SQL procedure experience.
Data analysis / Data mining experience in structured and unstructured
data.
Good experience of using Jira, Confluence, MS Teams or similar
collaboration tools
Strong knowledge using Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, deployment process
Previous Testing automation exposure on data warehouse area implementation
is beneficial.

team.
