Principle Responsibilities:
· Receive and evaluate hogs as they arrive at the plant
· Count and sort off-quality hogs
· Supervise hourly union workforce in completion of duties
· Complete necessary paperwork
· Comply with relevant laws, rules, and procedures, including Packers and Stockyards Act and Humane Handling
Working Conditions:
· Production and maintenance settings
· Exposure to various chemicals, machinery and knives likely
· Slippery floors, extreme temperature and loud noises
Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Experience: Experience in swine production
Special Skills:
· Ability to communicate fluently in English, both written and verbal
· Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills
· Excellent computer skills required
Relationships
Internal: Supervise hourly union workers
External: Laws, regulations in Humane Handling
