POSITION SUMMARY:
Jigsaw is hiring a Virtual Learning Environment Officer on a part time, fixed 3-year basis.
This contract is being offered on a shorter working year basis. Time worked will be in line with the post primary school academic year and will be 35 working weeks out of 52 per annum. The eLearning role equates to 16hrs per week e.g. 5 half days/week, however the hours can be negotiated as there will be some evening work required to support webinar and online training delivery. Salary is in line with the below salary range and has been pro-rata'd to reflect the part-time nature of the role.
The successful candidate will work as a member of the Mental Health Promotion Team in Jigsaw and report to the eLearning Lead. They will play a key role in coordinating the implementation of Jigsaw’s 3-year programme of work to provide wellbeing and mental health supports for post-primary schools, in partnership with the National Educational Psychological Service (NEPS)/ Department of Education The post-holder will have responsibility for the administration of the virtual learning portal being used to deliver our programme of work in schools and communities.
The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day operations of Jigsaw’s Learning Management System and provide support to users across this system’s various portals. Additionally, they will be responsible for some general administration for the eLearning Team. The post holder will be reliable, highly motivated, enthusiastic and flexible in their approach to the work and be open and willing to contributing to the wider objectives of the organisation.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work collaboratively with other members of the Jigsaw Schools Team in the development and implementation of Jigsaw’s programme of wellbeing and mental health supports in post-primary schools.
- Participate in cross-functional eLearning and digital education projects across the organisation.
- Provide technical support and administration to Jigsaw staff and external users of the eLearning platform.
- Day-to-day content management, including the upload / assembly of online components of programmes, testing, launch and ongoing maintenance.
- Support a range of activities across the online learner journey e.g. tech support, responding to queries, updating learner information.
- Monitor the Departmental email mailbox ([email protected]) and assign inward communications as appropriate.
- Monitoring the engagement and participation of schools in Jigsaw’s programme of work nationally, collated within the learning management system and other relevant systems.
- Work as part of the National Jigsaw Team in the implementation of Jigsaw’s Strategic Plan.
- Carry out any other such duties as may reasonably be requested, in fulfilment of Jigsaw’s vision, mission and strategic priorities.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Essential
- Relevant 3rd level qualification relating to the role outlined above or at least 3 years equivalent experience of working with LearnUpon or similar Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Experience of providing technical and practical support to LMS users
- Ability to respond helpfully, warmly and empathically to learners’ technical issues
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and possess the skills to effectively work within cross functional teams in a collaborative environment
- Strong IT Skills e.g. Microsoft Office (particularly PowerPoint, Excel)
- Excellent writing skills and outstanding attention to detail
- Ability to manage and prioritise own workload and work with flexibility, initiative, creativity and imagination
- Capacity to work both on own initiative and as part of a Team
- Strong organisational, project management and administration skills
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and targets.
Desirable criteria:
- Experience of website content management e.g. Wordpress
- Experience with eLearning software such as Articulate 360
- Experience of data management systems e.g. Salesforce
- Experience of working with creative software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Vyond etc.
- Understanding of the issues which impact on the mental health of young people and an understanding of mental health promotion, prevention and early intervention strategies
- Passion for supporting young people’s mental health and achieving change in Irish society
- High tolerance for complexity and change and an ability to flourish and adapt in a dynamic environment.
Benefits
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Factors taken into account in determining an appropriate scale include the candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications relevant to the job. The full salary range for this role is €33,000 - €46,800 per annum. €9,604.99 - €13,621.62 is the pro-rata’d salary range reflecting the part time, 16 hour week and 35 week nature of the role.

Presence in National Office at other times many also be required (e.g. Mental Health Promotion Department meetings, National Office Team meetings, etc.).
