Job Description: Production Set Up Technician – Assembly Production Team
Responsibilities:

Primary function of this position is to ensure the proper coordination and execution of changeovers in coupling assembly.
* Shift times are subject to change. Employees must be willing to work in excess of 8 hours in one shift. Sometimes it is not possible to give employees involved much notice.
Overtime: Employees must be willing and available to work weekends on an on-going basis if needed. Overtime will be paid for all hours worked in excess of forty hours in any one week.
  • Performs all job tasks assigned by the leadership staff in assigned area of responsibility to achieve and maintain daily productivity and quality goals.
  • Coordinates with Supervisors, production employees, others on the floor to facilitate changeovers on equipment, including both the mechanical changeover of the machine and the material changeover
  • Maintains clear and accurate records regarding changeovers to be logged in production database
  • Reports maintenance issues to appropriate personnel in a timely manner
  • Coordinates with Planning and Operation’s teams to ensure both have required information to effectively plan and run production
  • Ensure quality of every product produced by verifying changeover was completed correctly with shift Quality Assurance personnel
  • Assists in preparing for changeovers by locating materials, staging next jobs, etc.
  • Maintains all tools appropriately
  • Coordinates and communicates with Shipping, Manufacturing Planning Team, Branch Operations, Management, and other departments in a professional manner, adhering to Victaulic’s Code of Conduct
  • Understand and abide by all Company safety rules, regulations, and policies.  Ensure that safe and sanitary working conditions are maintained in the facility in accordance with Company standards, as well as state & federal laws and regulations. Know and understand your OSHA rights.  Responsible for attending all assigned safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions.  As required, promptly investigate accidents and near misses, completing appropriate reports and taking action to eliminate root causes.
  • Participates in ongoing training regarding technology upgrades and new systems applicable to the position.
  • Maintains an awareness of loss prevention, security and safety following the guidelines as outlined in the Company Code of Conduct and Employee handbook.
  • Actively participate in any Company initiative designed to improve workplace efficiency, eliminate waste, and improve quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Required Skills:

  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics
  • Computer literate, including but not limited to Microsoft Office
