Responsibilities & Duties:
 
  • Understand and abide by all Company safety rules, regulations, and policies.  Ensure that safe and sanitary working conditions are maintained in the facility in accordance with Company standards, as well as, state & federal laws and regulations. Know and understand your OSHA rights.  Conduct safety training topics as required or needed.  Responsible for attending all assigned safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions.  As required, promptly investigate accidents and near misses, completing appropriate reports and taking action to eliminate root causes.
  • Develop, document, and maintain quality calibration systems, procedures, and methods for electrical, dimensional, optical, physical and mechanical inspection measurement and test equipment (IM&TE) based on analysis of measurement frequency, accuracy and precision requirements. Evaluate new calibration methods and procedures. Use statistics to analyze measurement standards and processes. Recommend calibration standards and IM&TE. Maintain records and record keeping per company requirements and ensure they are in a state of compliance.
  • Operate CMM as required.
  • Prepare calibration procedures/calibration job plans and associated training materials.
  • Conduct internal audits of processes and procedures.
  • Teach hourly personnel how to use measuring equipment.                                           
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions with complex calibration and metrology issues.
  • Maintain facility calibration control program SOP and associated training material. 
  • Serve as technical expert with regard to calibration during regulatory inspections.
  • Implement corrective and preventative action projects pertaining to calibration and measurement issues. 
  • Develop training plans and materials, conduct training and maintain professional competency. 
  • Possess the authority to make disposition on and release product to next process including release to customer. 
 Qualifications (education, experience, skills, personal attributes): 
  • High School Diploma required
  • Knowledge of measuring equipment required
  • Basic computer knowledge required
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Foundry experience preferred
