1461 - Test Automation/DevOps Engineer

Sigma Defense is seeking a Test Automation/DevOps Engineer to provide the government with support to a Navy software factory. The FORGE is a modernization effort to deliver cutting-edge software development practices, DevSecOps, and technologies to the Fleet.

The ideal candidate is someone who has a strong background in testing infrastructure as code (IaC), services, API and applications. There is a heavy emphasis on modern practices such as leveraging containerization in both production and development environments for full-stack application and services. The chosen candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining tests for our Platform as a Service (PaaS).

Requirements

• 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience working on Linux based infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of testing frameworks, tools, and infrastructure.
• Ability to create and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for infrastructure and application deployments.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, to identify testing requirements.
• Working knowledge of various tools, open-source technologies, and cloud services.
• Experience with WebApps and Services, CI/CD, and Kubernetes is preferred.

Personnel Clearance Level:

• Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance.
• Clearance will be sponsored for the right candidate.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field of study.

Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):

• Support lab installs, testing and checkout procedures in Dahlgren Navy Base and Forge Software Factory, and also be able to travel to other bases.
• Design and develop test cases, test plans, and implement the tests via scripting in bash or ansible.
• Define and set development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operations.
• Identify and report defects, working with development teams to resolve issues and fix code bugs.
• Monitor the processes during the entire lifecycle for its adherence, and update or create new processes for improvement while minimizing wastage.
• Support implementation of various developments, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure in cloud environment.
• Build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline).

Salary Range: $80,000 - $115,000 annually.
