People in Need is a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded on the ideals of humanity, freedom, equality and solidarity.
People in Need was established in 1992 by a group of Czech war correspondents, journalists and activists and has grown to become one of the largest non-profit organization in Central and Eastern Europe.
Throughout our 30 years of existence, People in Need continues to engage in humanitarian aid, development cooperation, education and social inclusion.
We have been operating in Ethiopia since 2003, working in Five regions; Oromia, South Ethiopia, Central Ethiopia, Sidama and Tigray in different multi sectoral projects in the areas of development and emergency response.
People in Need, from the very start of its operations in Ethiopia, has focused on projects in five main areas of interest: Education, Agriculture, Climate and Environment, Water and Social protection.

PIN currently is seeking energetic, disciplined, responsible Field Coordinator for the specific project entitled “Empowering Futures for Youth and Women beyond Agriculture’’
PIN currently invites applicants for the position of Field Coordinator
Length of Contract: definite (until November 30, 2027)
Place of Work: - Based in Bulehorra and Yabello Oromia Region with frequent travel to PIN’s project sites in different regions as required.

Field coordinator (FC) is fully responsible in supporting PIN’s successful implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the project activities and outputs. In close collaboration with the Consortium Coordinator and Project Manager, the FC is also responsible in leading on the project implementation efforts at the field level to achieve the specific results of the project in proper quality and time as stipulated by the project documents. The FC works under close supervision and collaboration of the EC Project Manager, and will be entrusted with supervising Field officers at the respective field locations stationed. The FC is expected to collaborate with Woreda Government Officials, DAs, Kebele administrative officials, community members, TVETs, private entities, other INGO and NGO staff as well as with other PIN staff. As per their contract of employment, the FC is accountable as per the regulations and rules of PIN including core values of the organization and safeguarding requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
I) PROJECT RELATED REQUIREMENTS
Activity based requirements
- Participate in the preparation of project plans, baseline surveys, community assessments, studies, monitoring and evaluations through collecting data, mobilizing community;
- Support the beneficiary selection/re – identification based on set criteria in collaboration with field officers and project stakeholders
- Prepare action plan for the implementation of project activities according to the log frame and timeframe of the project
- Implement and monitor project activities on a regular basis and coordinate closely with MEAL team to ensure indicator tracking
- Undertakes regular visits to EC project intervention sites and analyze the progress of the project’s implementation in the areas of operation areas using PIN standard monitoring checklist, and feedback to the Project Manager and Consortium Coordinator.
- Where requested, required or delegated, lead on regular project team meetings at the field level and providing necessary feedback and suggestions for the improvement of the project quality
- Supervise and capacitate Field officers based on their job description and project activities.
- Regularly supervise, provide technical support and coordinate the project field officers and evaluate Field officers as per their job description;
- Ensure the attainment of adequate results in proper quality and in time. Where this is hindered/ not possible, communicate on a timely basis to the CC and PjM.
- Follow security rules and enforce the security rules with the project team
- Ensure visibility of PIN among the communities and government staff
- Meeting all project related deadlines such as reporting, implementation, monitoring etc.
- Ensures correctness and completeness of information acquired and delivered for purposes of project quality improvement and tracking.
- Facilitate training delivery process in collaboration with the project stakeholders in the project operation areas.
- Collaborate with the MSD and Education expert on project related strategic goal and priorities
COORDINATION
- Facilitate different awareness raising community meetings, campaigns and events in collaboration with Field officers and PjM
- Actively collaborates with PIN’s other ongoing project team members in the project operation areas
DOCUMENTATION
- Document copies of every steps of project activities like list of beneficiaries, distribution list, agreement, attendances, minutes, bylaws, and any necessary documents;
- Prepare the best practices and success stories; prepare photo documentations for the implementation of each project activities;
PLANNING AND REPORTING
- Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly plans and reports specific to the position and submit to project manager.
- The reports and plans shall be submitted every Thursday afternoon and will contain a shortlist of activities achieved in the past week and activities planned for the next one
- Prepare and share quality and professional reports on every training, workshop, meeting, campaign, experience sharing sessions, exposure visits and other project related events
- Plan and submit weekly logistics and cash needs to the project manager
COMMUNICATION & NETWORKING
- Organize and document beneficiaries’ profile and progress information and share to the project manager and team members in timely manner
- Communicate regularly with project stakeholders and partners at zonal and woreda level
- Ensure maintenance of good personal relations to beneficiaries, government staff, partners, project team and supervisor
MATERIAL DEVELOPMENT
- Participate in different materials and guidelines development and revisions as needed/ necessary.
- Facilitate the translation of relevant checklists and tools to Amharic and other local language when necessary
CONFIDENTIALITY
- Keep all the confidential information of the organization as needed

TEAM BUILDING
Build and maintaining excellent personal, interpersonal, team sprit relations within the Project members, PIN staffs, community and other stakeholders
II) Financial / Administrative Requirements
- Support/ participate in the preparation of Purchase requests as per the Annual purchase plan;
- Plan, request and follow up purchase and delivery of project materials in collaboration with procurement and logistics)
- Collect the procured materials from PIN on time ensuring the quality of the items as per specification of approved purchase request and plan;
- Facilitate the payments to training participants, etc;
III) Other
- Perform other assignments corresponding to actual needs of the mission, program and project mission or upon the request of line manager/CMT
- Substitute other Field Coordinators or the field Officers during absence or as assigned by the Project Manager
- Understand and adhere to overall PIN code of conducts, policies, guidelines and manuals
- Understand and Adhere to all donor’s and PIN’s guidelines and policies, with special focus on safeguarding and protection policies
Other: other assignments corresponding to actual needs of the project, program or mission up on the request of line manager/CMT
ACCOUNCOUNTABILITY AND SAFEGUARDING including Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (SEAH)
• Carry out the duties in accordance with the PIN Code of Conduct and Key policies.
• Participate in training and awareness raising (CoC and KP, Safeguarding…).
• Implement Safeguarding measures throughout the project cycle including a risk analysis related to SEAH and Child protection for each project and develop a mitigation plan accordingly.
• Ensure that his/her team members attend training and awareness sessions and carry out the duties in accordance with PIN Code of Conduct and Key policies.
• Ensure that due diligence and/or capacity assessments of partners include an assessment of partners’ implementation of key safeguarding and risk policies/ procedure including the prevention of SEAH.
• Create and maintain a fulfilling and protective environment.
General obligations and responsibilities

The Employee’s position within the institution requires contacts with outside; he or she therefore conveys a certain image of the PIN. PIN expects its Employees to behave in appropriate manners at all times and in all places. The Employee takes over the responsibility for all entrusted material or cash. The Employee is obligated to cover all damages or losses caused by his carelessness. The Agreement of Liability of Assets has been signed separately.

Qualifications and requirements:
- Management Education & TVETs development, Sociology, Social work, Partnership Development, Rural Development, Business Administration/Developmental economics, Economics, Marketing system development.
- 5 years and above Experience in Project management, EU Project management, stakeholders management and engagement, strategic planning, management, reporting, communication with donor, government authorities & partner NGOs, partnership development, coordination with various stakeholders, forums, clusters, etc.
- Good networking, representation and coordination and negotiation skills with stakeholders, government and other agencies.
- Planning, coordination and report writing skills
- Good communication and capacity to work under stress
- Good command of MS Package (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
- Knowledge of spoken & written Amharic, English
