Role Overview

As a senior leader, you will be responsible for improving Coupang's pricing operations that include processes for price determination, price monitoring and adjustments, market research and others. Your initiatives will include execution of market research programs, process and policy improvements programs, development of quality frameworks, process automation, tooling enhancements. You will collect various data and collaborate with product, operational, engineering, catalog management and business teams within Coupang to find the fastest and most appropriate solutions for projects and ultimately improve consumer shopping experience.

 

What You Will Do 

  • Delivering programs to improve metrics related to quality and effectiveness of processes supporting Coupang pricing strategy, including market research, process improvement plans, modifications of pricing systems owned by partners. 
  • Analyzing data and conducting market research to identify pricing, retail and e-commerce trends that should translate to Coupang's pricing strategy and operational processes.  
  • Defining quality assurance frameworks, introducing practices for ensuring the highest operational standards, and running operational audits. 
  • Introducing changes to operational processes and systems to improve operational efficiency, consumer experience, and support the organization's growth and long-term goals. 
  • Collaborating with product, operational, engineering, business teams to establish and prioritize operational initiatives and prioritize them. 
  • Establishing and managing a team of operational experts to support the organization's operational objectives. 

 

Basic Qualifications 

  • 10+ years of experience in operation-related roles, incl. hands-on responsibility for the set-up, execution of operational processes, delivery of improvement programs, with strong focus on accuracy and detail in operational processes. 
  • Strong skills in managing projects from inception to completion, with demonstrated ability to lead multiple teams to deliver results within time constraints. 
  • Experience in leading change initiatives and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across many teams. 
  • Demonstrated top-class people management skills, ability to mentor and guide team members, experience of building teams while fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. 
  • Experience in conducting hands-on deep dives into issues, identifying root causes, and proposing practical solutions; ability to synthesize information quickly, extract key insights, and present insights to director-level stakeholders or higher. 
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel) to drive pricing decisions and measure the impact of pricing strategies. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Knowledge of English and Korean - th role will work with English-speaking senior leadership and partners. 
  • Previous experience in the pricing domain in the e-commerce environment, understanding of financial principles related to pricing strategies, including cost analysis and profit margins. 
  • Experience with market research and competitive analysis frameworks and tools to inform pricing decisions. 
  • Experience in policy development, SOP definition, defects detection, process tuning with automation  
  • Knowledge of machine learning and deep learning models, especially in the context of improving pricing operations. 
  • Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., RPA software) to streamline pricing operations and reduce manual tasks. 
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Asana, Trello, Jira, Microsoft Project) to provide visibility into project sand collaborate with teams. 
  • Knowledge of methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen to drive efficiency in pricing operations.
